Update character list for Holes

Foreshadowing

What is foreshadowing?

Guesses -

  • something's going to happen later on in the book
  • being told what's going to happen before it does
  • what you see or hear before something happens

Foreshadowing is a technique authors use to give hints or indications about what's going to happen later on.

Why do authors use foreshadowing?

  • to make the book more interesting
  • to give hints about what's going to happen later on
  • to make you want to keep reading

What are some examples from Holes?

1. Predictions you have right now and why
2. Things which have already happened and how the author prepared you for them
