Now that we've finished Macbeth, it's time to go back and look at the play as a whole.

There are some very typical Shakespearian themes in the play which we will be exploring:

  • blind ambition can lead to one's downfall
  • power corrupts
  • superstition affects human behaviour
  • things are not always what they seem

We will also be looking at the idea of a tragic hero.
