Classroom Rules

Section One: Materials

1. All students are expected to be in uniform; coats and jumpers off. Students should not need to be reminded of this.
2. Students are expected to come to class prepared; this includes having a pen or pencil and arriving with homework completed. Lack of homework will result in detention.
3. Phones are absolutely not allowed. They are to be turned off before entering the classroom. Any phones seen or heard will be confiscated. The first time a phone is taken they will available from me at the end of the day; after that, they will be in the office.

Section Two: Behaviour

1. Students are to be respectful and polite at all times, both to the teacher and to other students. Students unable to interact reasonably with others will be removed from class.
2. Students are to speak only when instructed to do so. Students should not be speaking at any other time. This includes, but is not limited to, when a teacher or another student is speaking. Questions will be answered by raising ones hand and being called upon. Students are not to shout out answers nor reply when they are spoken to by a teacher in a non-question format. Students creating a disturbance will be removed from class and given a detention.
3. Inappropriate language, including swearing or language which is derogatory in regards to race, religion, sex, colour, or other such characteristics will absolutely not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal from class.
