Point of View

What is point of view?
Point of view is the perspective of the person telling the story.

Three types of POV:

1. First person - perspective of the person telling the story about him or herself (I, me, my, mine, etc.)

2. Third person - person (narrator) is telling the story about somebody else (he, she, they, etc)

  • Limited: the narrator doesn't know everything that has happened (such as thoughts and feelings)
  • Omniscent (unlimited): narrator knows everything

(3. Second person - very rare; telling a story about you)
